Grievance Redressal Cell
To realize the primary needs of the students and staff and secure civil liberties for everybody, a Grievance Redressal Cell has been constituted at SNTI. Protection of human rights is essential for all round development of an individual’s personality.
The cell is intended to find solutions for grievances like physical or mental harassment, complaints regarding class room teaching, class room management, completion of syllabus, teaching methodology, infrastructure maintenance and upgradation, etc. if and when they arise. The Grievance Redressal Cell has been set up at SNTI to genuinely understand the grievances of students and parents and to ensure remedial action.
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the Grievance Cell is to promote and maintain a conducive and harmonious educational environment among the students. The Students’ Grievance Cell is constituted for the redressal of the problems reported by the students of the College. This is with the following objectives in mind
a)The cell is formed in order to keep the healthy working atmosphere amongst staff, students and parents.
b)This cell helps Students to record their complaints and solve their problems related to academics, resources and personal grievances freely and frankly without any fear of victimization.
c)To keep the dignity of the college high by ensuring conflict free atmosphere in the College by promoting good Student-Student relationship and Student-teacher relationship.
d)To ensure effective solution to the student grievances with an impartial and fair approach.
e)In order to advising Students of the College to respect each other and be patient whenever any occasion of conflict arises.
f)To advise all the students to refrain from stirring up students against other students, teachers and College administration.
g)Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in and outside the institution.
h)Any violation of ragging and disciplinary rules should be urgently brought to the notice of the Principal.
i)Ragging Complaints will be handled as per ragging rules.
j)Woman Harassment complaints will be handled as per government guidelines by respective section.
STUDENT REDRESSAL AND WELFARE CELL
Scient Institute of Technology is committed to provide a safe, fair and harmonious learning and working environment. The Student Grievance Redressal Cell has been reconstituted on 18-07-2014 to redress the grievances and complaints of the students. The cell facilitates the resolution of grievances in a fair and impartial manner involving the respective Department (dealing with the substantive function connected with the grievance), maintaining necessary confidentiality, as the case may be. Any stakeholder with a genuine grievance may approach Cell to submit his/her grievance in writing.
Functions of Cell
The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student, and judge its merit.
The Grievance cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment.
Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the department members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge Students’ Grievance Cell.
In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/ suggestion box of the Grievance Cell.

Roles and Responsibilities
- To uphold the dignity of the College by ensuring strife free atmosphere in the College through promotion of cordial Student-Student relationship and Student-teacher relationship etc
- To provide responsive, accountable and easily accessible machinery for settlement of grievances and to take measures in the college undertakings to ensure expeditious settlement of grievances of Students in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the institute.
- It is to deal with the complex situations in a tactful manner to lesson the condition felt to be oppressive or dissatisfied.
- To encourage the Students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized.
- To advertise students of the SNTI to respect the right and dignity of one another and show utmost restraint and patience whenever any occasion of rift arises.
- To advertise all the students to refrain from inciting students against other students, teachers and College administration.
- To advertise all staffs to be affectionate towards students and not behave in a vindictive manner towards any of them for any reason.
- To support, those students who have been deprived of the services offered by the College, for which he/she is entitled.
- To make officials of the College responsive, accountable and courteous in dealing with the students.
- To ensure effective solution to the student’s grievances with an impartial and fair approach.
Procedure for lodging complaint
- The students may feel free to put up a grievance in writing/or Email to the respective committee incharge.
- The Grievance Cell will act upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents.
- The Grievance Cell will assure that the grievance has been properly solved in a stipulated time limit provided by the cell.
WOMEN GRIEVANCE CELL
The Women Grievance Redressal cell was constituted on 14-06-2011.The Cell is responsible for looking into any complaints filed by students & staff about Women Grievances at the college. The functions of the cell are to purely safeguard the rights of female students, faculty and staff members of women and also to provide a platform for listening to complaints. The Cell also tries to incorporate hygiene habits and ensure a healthy atmosphere in and around the college. It tries to equip them with the knowledge of their legal rights and redressal of their grievances. To facilitate speedy delivery of justice, meetings are organized regularly. The counseling cell processes oral and written complaints. Time to time the cell conducts seminars and lectures by specialists and eminent personalities to stop violence against women, sexual harassment at work and about health, hygiene etc.
In view of the increasing number of girl students in the campus, Women Grievance Redressal Cell at SNTI makes every effort to ensure that the girls feel at home. The cell resolves common problems of girl students and also takes up individual cases of sexual harassment, if any. Ragging in the hostels is totally disallowed, and any adventure in this respect is punishable.

- The Cell will deal with the cases / complaints of sexual annoyance and any other type of harassment of the female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college.
- The Cell shall process all the individual complaints and take suitable action thereon in the manner and mode as per the college norms.
- The Cell will provide assistance to the Faculty/Colleges/Institute for taking preventive steps in the matter of gender discrimination and sexual harassment.
- The Cell may form / review the guidelines / policy for redressal of the grievance as required from time to time, which may be in accordance with those issued by Supreme Court and Government Agencies.
- To conduct meeting whenever required and discuss relevant issues, in consultation with the Director seeking his approval.
