The Department of Computer Science and
Engineering came into existence with the establishment of the institute in 2001
with the intake of 60 in UG (B. Tech) and later enhanced to 270. The Department
of Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning came into existence with the
establishment of the institute in the A.Y 2024-25 with the intake of 60 in UG
(B. Tech).
Department aims to provide students
with strong conceptual foundations and also expose them to the forefront of development
in the field of computing. Our goal is to give an Engineering attitude for
confidence building to solve technical problems. The department has highly
qualified and experienced faculty members.
The department maintains its own departmental
library as well. The state-of-art laboratories have over 205 computers with the
latest configuration PCs and are completely networked, which provides adequate
facilities for curriculum need like DBMS lab, Java Lab, Data structures lab WT
labs etc. Department also has dedicated labs for internet access, visual
classes for effective teaching. As a part of the curriculum, Industrial visits
are arranged for students of B.Tech III Yr II-Semester. Students of our
Department actively participate in National-level Student Paper Presentation
Contests being organized at various Engineering Colleges and Universities.
The department is headed by Dr.A.BALARAM, with vast Teaching experience. The
department currently has 18 faculty members, including two doctorates. Faculty
research interest spans a wide range: from abstract theory to down-to-earth
problems of immediate interest to industry.
Current areas of research of the department has broadly classified into
the following categories: Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Soft Computing,
and Machine Learning, Data Mining and Business Analytics, Wireless Protocols,
Information Retrieval Systems, Networks and Internet Technologies, Software
Engineering and Languages
VISION
The Vision of the department is to produce competent graduates suitable for industries and organizations at global level including research and development with Social responsibility.
MISSION
a) To provide an open environment to foster professional and
personal growth with a strong theoretical and practical background.
b) Emphasis on hardware and software development making the
graduates industry ready with social ethics.
c) Further the Department is to provide training and to partner
with Global entities in education and research.

NPTEL
NPTEL has also initiated open online courses with certification where courses in different domains are regularly launched. NPTEL is now offering online certification courses through its portal https://onlinecourses.nptel.ac.in. There are 4wk, 8wk as well as 12wk courses offered twice a year. At the end of the course a certification exam (optional) is held on specific dates at specific centers. Certificate from IIT is awarded to those who register and appear for the examination. These exams have nominal fees with facility of scholarship and partial fee waiver for SC/ST candidates. We are glad to announce that our institution now also have approved NPTEL local chapter from Jan 2018 and coordinated by Dr.B.Sridhar, Professor, Dept of ECE (https://nptel.ac.in/LocalChapter/statistics/1541/).This will facilitate our students and faculties to use NPTEL contents better, apply for scholarships. All are invited to be part of this and take benefits.
